Queentessence codex floralis Magnum opus

The queen of the fifth essence floræ.

The quintessence in alchemy is the fifth and highest element in ancient and medieval philosophy that permeates all nature and is the substance composing the celestial bodies.

This artwork is a Magnum opus, it has been made in 18 months with a total of 1440 hours. Composed of 684 flowers and leaves.

The flowers are painted in different moments and places with watercolour for its vibrant colours. The variety of shapes, individually cut out and mounted as a collage in a circular frame with a gold leaf border, make a unique piece of art.

I've used sacred geometry, mathematics and alchemy. This piece is a floral seasonal and cosmic calendar. It was completed in the summer of 2022 (August).

Dedicated to Queen Victoria and recently passed away, Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
